Quran Companion Multilingual ("we", "our", or "app") values your privacy. We believe your spiritual journey and connection with the Holy Quran is sacred, personal, and private.
1. Information Collection & Local Storage
We do not collect, sell, rent, or trade your personally identifiable information (PII). All user-created data, including:
- Personal reflection notes and Tafsir annotations
- Hifz memorization progress indicators and milestones
- Reading bookmarks, favorite verses, and last-read positions
- Custom audio playback speeds and repeat settings
are stored strictly locally on your Android device using SQLite / Room database and Android SharedPreferences. No personal notes are uploaded to any external server.
2. Audio Streaming & Content Delivery
When you stream recitations or download audio files for offline listening, requests are directed to secure, recognized Islamic audio content delivery networks (CDNs). These requests transmit standard technical parameters (such as Surah and Ayah number) required to stream the file. No personal identification, email, or profile data is associated with audio requests.
3. Device Permissions Used
The app requests only standard Android permissions strictly necessary for application functionality:
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK: Required to enable smooth background audio playback and notification tray controls while your screen is locked.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required only if you opt-in to daily inspirational verse reminders or prayer notification schedules.
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to stream audio recitations and verify network availability.
4. Analytics & Crash Reporting
To ensure app stability and maintain high performance across thousands of Android device models, we may utilize Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. This telemetry collects only anonymized device hardware specifications, OS versions, and crash stack traces. No religious notes, Quran readings, or user identities are transmitted.
5. Children's Privacy
Our application contains no mature, harmful, or inappropriate content. It is suitable for Muslims of all ages, including children learning Quran. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
6. Security of Your Data
Because all personal reflections and Hifz data remain locally stored on your Android device, you have complete control over your data. Uninstalling the application or clearing application storage will remove the locally stored data from your device.
